MORE INFORMATION ON COMIC RELIEF:
Comic Relief supports disadvantaged people living incredibly tough lives across the UK and the world’s poorest communities. Since it began they’ve helped 12.2 million people in need across the UK and since the last Red Nose Day they’ve helped over 1.1 people in need across the UK. Here’s some awesome causes that they’ve helped:
MATERNAL MENTAL HEALTH IN THE UK - Since 2009, they have funded 9 projects in the UK that are delivering vital services and support networks to women, and their families, affected by maternal mental health issues, totalling £1,394,509.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IN THE UK - Since Comic Relief began they’ve funded 403 projects supporting people affected by domestic violence in the UK.
TRAFFICKING IN THE UK - Comic Relief funds organisations in the UK that help vulnerable people who have been trafficked. They provide emotional, practical and legal support, helping them recover from their ordeal and get their lives back on track. Their projects also do outreach and prevention work, helping to prevent more vulnerable people falling prey to traffickers.

SMARTIES COOKIE RECIPE
150g Unsalted Butter
125g Light Brown Sugar
100g Caster Sugar
1 TSP Vanilla Extract
1 Large Egg
250g Plain Flour
1/2 TSP Bicarbonate of Soda
1/2 TSP Baking Powder
150g Smarties (or Minstrels or M&Ms)
Heat the oven to 170℃ or gas mark 3. Place the butter and sugar into a food processor and blend (this can also be done in a bowl by hand, or with an electric whisk). Then add the rest of the wet ingredients and give it another blend before adding the flour, bicarbonate of soda and baking powder. Give it a final churn before adding the smarties (although these can be placed on top of the cookies before baking if you’d prefer them not to be broken down). Use a scoop to evenly distribute the mixture across two baking-parchment lined baking trays before baking for 10-12 minutes. Leave the cool - ENJOY!
